Edward Schuman

Ed was a excellent man and a good friend. He was a happy and productive individual. He developed and built the Harper Homes development in downtown Tinley Park, Illinois. He served with the Green Beret in Panama. He rode a Harley Davidson and a Corvette and a Crossfire Convertible. The photo above is Ed in Florida in March 2012.

Ed was a man full of life who made all around him feel happy. He will be missed by his long time friends.

Rest in Peace, Ed

Parking Deck

I went to the meeting last Saturday where the Village is planning the parking deck. They are still trying to buy the property across the street to construct the garage. The owner still does not intend to sell, and the Village has not filed a condemnation suit. These law suits take several years to get resolved, so I don't think they will get it done anytime soon unless they make him an offer he cannot refuse. He says so far they have only offered him $500,000, which he thinks is way too low.

The acquisition as proposed would take the house closest to our homes, but not the second home where he lives. His house would remain, about 5 or 10 feet from the deck. The garage would be about 3 stories above ground, and the corner of the garage would be set back about 30 feet from the corner of the property.

Still hoping they just build the residential.
